*Special note:  The professionals listed on this page view PCOS as a WHOLE PERSON disease.  The team of professionals below has a commitment to providing you with advice that has scientific validity.  Feedback I am receiving from the individuals below is that when their clients follow the program, it works!

The caveat is that while we may be able to give you the information you need, using it, consistently and regularly is your choice and responsibility.  It can be challenging to make changes in diet and lifestyle.  But, especially if you're working on your PCOS in order to conceive, imagine that the very best and most important first give your child will receive is an environment (in the womb and in your home) that best promotes his/her development and reduces his/her own risk of medical problems.

Please respect that the caregivers listed on this page earn their living by providing counseling and medical services.  Use their time respectfully and be prepared to pay a professional fee for the time that they give you.

I didn't intend to specialize in PCOS, but it seemed wherever I looked, and whatever specialty I worked in...PCOS was there.  I finally decided to accept that this might be my calling.  The more I learned, the more I realized that women were not getting the right kind of information.  And they were spending lots of money on lots of wrong information.

This network is my mission--and in learning and training other colleagues, I've learned how much support and power there is when people come together to solve problems.  I especially love the fact that we are a combination of people with training as well as life experience, not just one or the other.  I hope you find someone on this page who you can reach out to and begin your journey of health, understanding...and peace of mind.

Ironically, I have no children myself.  I was fortunate, however, to come from a wonderful family that has given me unconditional love and support for my entire life.  I love knowing that the children our program helps to create are coming into families who also love them very much, and who have such potential to build great futures for themselves based on that love.

Working as a Dietitian in private practice, I find so often how much clients already know.  Nutrition information is available everywhere you turn-online, in magazines, and on TV (for example Dr. Oz)!  I enjoy being an expert guide for individuals to fine tune their diets and daily routines to obtain the success they are looking for.

I enjoy working with women who have PCOS because the focus is on things that are in their control vs. so many factors that are not.  I also enjoy working with clients on weight loss, cholesterol reduction, diabetes, kidney disease, cancer, gastro-intestinal disease, and migraine.

I stay very current by attending annual nutrition conferences including Scripps Integrative Medicine’s Natural Supplement symposium.  I subscribe to many evidenced based journals and periodicals.  I belong to the American Dietetic Association’s practice groups for Weight Management and Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine.

I received a degree in food and nutrition from California State University, Long Beach.  I have been practicing in Orange County in many fields of dietetics including eating disorders, chemical dependency, elderly nutrition, and disease prevention.

I have extensive experience working with people with disordered eating, insulin resistance, diabetes prevention and weight management. Through individualized counseling and group education, I utilize up-to-date research in the field of nutrition to promote health and prevent disease.

I have a passion for helping others to achieve body satisfaction, weight management, and simply enhanced health. It is important to reconnect the mind to the body by paying attention to biological hunger versus emotional hunger. I believe that a healthy relationship with food is necessary for success. There is no diet or exercise plan that will fit the lives of every individual. The best way to achieve your goals is through individual analysis. Your nutritional plan will be based on your goals, your needs, and your body.

My goal is to come up with real life solutions in a highly individualized setting.  I am a Registered Dietitian who has been working in the area of nutrition for over 17 years. I firmly believe in uncovering the why’s behind particular lifestyle choices before offering direction for change. I also believe that a lifetime of training the senses has gone into a person’s food choices, and it is not a simplistic approach that works; but a pulling off layer by layer to uncover what needs have to be addressed.

On the outside, I have the acne scars to show the skin problems that were just a symptom of something changing inside.

It was visited with some hot flashes here and there. Medically, I was treated with birth control, aldactone, serotonin uptake inhibitors and sometimes just a shake of the head and a pat on the back to wait it out.

Personally, my struggle with extreme mood swings, ovulatory pain, and adult acne in my mid-30’s was met with some reluctance to diagnose PCOS. I brought information to my doctors regarding PCOS, but they denied that was my issue. Interestingly enough, they placed me on medication used for PCOS and my ovulation problems and acne cleared up beautifully but not without unwelcomed side effects.

Simple will power to cut out a food or lifestyle choice leaves a hole. If it is not filled with a healthy solution, it is simply a vacuum that will substitute anything and everything to fill the void.

I desire to encourage and guide my clients in making healthy and realistic lifestyle choices that fit into their world. Simple will power to cut out a food or lifestyle choice leaves a hole. If it is not filled with a healthy solution, it is simply a vacuum that will substitute anything and everything to fill the void.

The number of women I meet and counsel has affirmed my suspicions of the need for a comprehensive and tender approach to this oft misunderstood syndrome. I desire to offer realistic, individualized solutions in an understanding and sensitive envioronment that seeks to treat the whole woman.

It is my passion to work with women in creating excellent health and well-being.  It is a passion born from having experienced the frustration of not being listened to or compassionately cared for in the traditional medical establishment, after experiencing a life-threatening viral infection.  I had one specialist tell me that my staggering fatigue, brain fog, thinning hair etc were all an attempt to “get attention”!

Fortunately my solid science and medical experience as a dietitian is what helped me figure out the problem(s) and to take charge of my healing and recovery.  This experience has shaped the way in which I work with my clients and continues to inspire me to help other women.

I am a Nutritionist / Registered Dietitian and a Licensed Esthetician who works from an integrative mind/body approach.  My practice is dedicated to helping my clients create the healthiest body, the best self-care and the richest sense of well-being possible. I bring a soul-centered, medically sound approach to my work. I work in partnership always respecting that you know your body better than anybody and my role is to guide you to your best options and solutions.

I offer tele-consultations which allow me to work with women across the country and also by appointment at my office in Ventura, California.

For over 10 years, I’ve shared my passion for food and its impact on health and disease management with patients and clients.  Now I’m excited to add PCOS and infertility to my specialty areas.  PCOS has personal importance to me as I learned that several close friends and a family member have struggled with infertility for years with no information on nutrition from their physicians beyond a one page list of “dos” and “don’ts”.   It is now my passion to see that women are given accurate information they need to make the best choices for their health and the future of their families.  I want to empower women with the knowledge that they have lifestyle choices to help their PCOS.

While not all women with PCOS are overweight, I am also certified in Adult Weight Management to assist clients with healthy weight loss to improve their fertility.  I enjoy counseling clients in the areas of heart health (high blood pressure and cholesterol management) and wellness as well.

With our society's frantic pace, fast food and portion distortion fueling the obsession with fad dieting, it's no wonder that we lose touch with what balanced healthy eating truly is.  I work with all of my clients to develop a healthy relationship with food so it is no longer a source of stress, guilt, or deprivation for them.  Beyond satisfying our taste buds, food can also be a powerful tool to maintain health and vitality.

I hope to work with a limited number of clients over the next several months via tele-counseling while I prepare for the birth of my first child in December.  But please don’t hesitate to contact me.  I look forward to devoting more time to my private practice after I return from my maternity leave in early 2010.

I am a 32 year old dietitian with PCOS. I was diagnosed after having difficulty getting pregnant.  Once I received the diagnosis, so many of my symptoms made sense: hypoglycemia, fatigue, mood swings, difficulty sleeping, adult acne..... But I didn't fit the typical profile for a woman with PCOS.  I was athletic and muscular, not overweight.  This made it even more difficult to believe that I had this disorder. And I was a dietitian with this disorder. All of a sudden I was seeing myself as the overweight dietitian that no one respected or trusted. I was also afraid of never having the family I had always wished for.  Luckily I was able to conceive and after a turbulent pregnancy, I delivered boy/girl twins!   I have returned to a healthy weight, but still struggle with mood swings, depression and insomnia.  Now that I have come to understand PCOS and its intricacies, I would love to help other women who are struggling with PCOS and its many negative symptoms with nutrition interventions.

I feel very passionate about womens' health issues - too many of my clients have struggled with various symptoms related to PCOS and/or body weight/body image without any intervention or referrals by their primary MD. I feel women are amazing given the depth of responsibility in their lives and many challenges they face with the incredible hormonal changes that take place throughout their lifespan.

I feel it is very powerful when a woman is in my office and I give her a chance to explore her weight history/symptoms in a very thoughtful and mindful way - truly listening to the story and providing a chance to find powerful solutions. My goal is for women to leave my office feeling good about themselves and their plan for stabilizing or decreasing their body weight, improving body image or PCOS symptoms.

My background includes a 19 year military career (last 12 as a reservist). I currently hold a civilian position as clinical nutrition manager in Dayton, OH at the Wright Patterson Medical Center.

(SPECIAL NOTE:  I currently only consult with military-related individuals with access to my medical center.)

Danielle Omar has the unique ability to reach beyond the drumbeat of calories and carbs and into a world where nutrition is tangible, fun and understandable.
Not only does she make wise food choices accessible to others, she also meets them on a personal, realistic level.

Better yet, she makes it enjoyable. Many people fail to tackle their weight loss and dietary issues because they’re afraid it’ll be hard and boring. But that’s not the case with coaching from Danielle.

Danielle‘s lively, straight-shooter personality makes it easy for clients to realize nutrition can be interesting – and valuable.

Danielle brings real-life understanding to diet and nutritional counseling. After all, she’s a working mom who has to balance her professional pursuits with a busy home life. She knows how easy it can be to fall into roller-coaster eating patterns when life gets hectic.

She also commands a solid media presence and has conducted interviews for local news reports and major news and entertainment outlets such as the Washington Post and the Food Network.

By eliminating your struggles with food and diets, Danielle will open you up to a new sense of freedom in life. Besides helping you attain your health goals, she’ll provide you with a plan of action that fits permanently into your lifestyle. In turn, you’ll discover you have more time and energy for the activities and people who matter most to you.
